It's boring to do, the people on the receiving end are bored and also feel like you're telling them they're a bad person (implying you're a better person) and resent that.

The longer it goes on, the more those effects intensify, the more people decide it's not even worth the bother to say "well, actually", then the ones still saying it feel like they're being even more of a drag, the more confident people feel saying "oh, just let it go already" to them
The way this stuff works is by forcing opponents into the position of killjoy. It's not noise per se, it's having to be the one who says continuously over and over again for weeks on end "this thing you love and enjoy, it's built on horrible shit and I'm going to make you keep thinking about it"
obviously not true that 80% of the UK pop are middle class - What's happened is that deindustrialisation means there are fewer manual workers, lots of remaining manual work is done by disenfranched non-citizens and pundits can't comprehend that working class has more meaning than factory worker
