A big part of the reactionary political project is convincing center-left that nothing can work on (or for) principle, and everything must be pre-compromised and partially ceded.
It's why Yes take advantage of the thermostatics; Yes push for an uncompromising agenda built on prinicple; Yes start talking about maximalist goals for the country and the world. It's not even "project 2029" as much as it is not running the broad strokes of project 2025 voluntarily!
