There are types of engineers that do not think about how code bumps up against people and power and history and institutions and they are less effective as a result. As the cost of software goes to zero and all that’s left is the intent, the more wretched that work will be without that frame.
Look, dogmatic AI hate is frustrating and unproductive from a practitioners view but if you don’t have the maturity and respect to see it in the same frame as vaccine hesitancy you gotta go take a walk and try to develop a theory of mind of other people as real if you actually want any progress
