"That's great, but how's the game?" It's okay. Some banger moments -- but like most Sierra games, it arbitrarily murders you on a perpetual basis, relies on weird platform navigation and timing puzzles, etc. But that's fine! It can represent a cherished memory without being a masterpiece.
I was considering Godot as I migrate away from RenPy. Goddammit. Next candidate is LightVN, although windows only and not having accessibility options is very worrying. I feel like I'm getting pushed out of my hobby by people laughing at me for not enjoying being force-fed sloppy "inevitability."
Being an indie game developer means one year of self-doubt and backbreaking work creating something very weird and unmarketable followed by one month of endorphins as some people play it and then repeating the cycle until you die At least that's my experience your mileage may vary
