Yesterday I started on #paleostream a new series: #PocketPrehistry, in which I draw extinct animals in life size on postcard formats, meaning the animals can't be much longer than 15 cm max!
Here the first 3 results
Scalacurvichthys, Arcticodactylus, Iberomesornis with Eoalulavis, Kreischeria...
please help!
enter: the new lobopodian Oreinorema
the paper which described this animal made some very bold claims about its anatomy and phylogenetic position. others have questioned these interpretations after looking at the scans used. as always more research is needed
here's a recent piece i was commissioned to illustrate by @sophiesaurus98.bsky.social, it's of her fictional iguanian the Crown-of-Thorns Dragon which was designed by @/ddinodan
alt text correction about the Kona Grosbeak (Chloridops kona), it was only found living on the island of Hawai'i in the moku of Kona to the north, I misread its wikipedia article. i did some digging and found that there are records of it from near Hualālai and Mauna Loa though
here are this week's #Paleostream sketches
this week we sketched Kank, Velociraptor, Plumadraco, and Chloridops regiskongi (the King Kong Grosbeak)
