Hello, I’ve recently began watching these videos along with The Necessary Conversation, I’m 22 and all my life my parents were anti government, anti control, never far right, very ” treat everyone equally no matter what ”, but as of about Trump’s first term, they steadily became more right leaning, slipping subtle hints into conversations. Fast forward to Trump’s second term, they’re on Facebook 24/7, sending each other right wing podcasts, Tucker Carlson videos, my mom has begun repeating tradwife jargain, my dad (who has NEVER been religious) suddenly claims Christians and white men are under attack, and they’re both hostile in public towards POC, mothers alone, women, gay couples etc. It’s extremely jarring to see, but I try my best to maintain a relationship with them because they’re the only parents I’ve got, but they’re getting more hateful by the day. I’m also a lesbian in a 5 year relationship, and they used to LOVE my girlfriend, but within the past few months they’ve become more passive aggressive towards her, the second they become truly directly hateful to me, her, our future little family, I’m not sure how I’ll handle them, but until then, videos like this bring me hope.
