I find myself re-reading bits of my old papers because someone else said I said... and I don't remember ever saying that. Turns out, mostly I didn't say what they said I said and they've either completely misunderstood or are deliberately obfuscating.
This silver coin is from Knossos and depicts the labyrinth of Greek myth. If you trace your finger from the entrance, like the puzzle books you used to do as a kid, you’ll find a path to the centre where you’ll meet…..a mini-Minotaur!

Good question. The divide between senior managers and staff (esp. academic staff) is bigger than it's been in the past 30+ years. Agree that senior managers teaching and/or taking modules would help. So would binning most external consultancies and restoring/creating university senates with power.

Ruth Benedict was born on this day in 1887 in New York City. She was a cultural anthropologist and folklorist who proved that culture shapes personality. She also refuted fascist master-race theories and explicitly coined the term “racism” to attack racial discrimination. /1
