In a new @surveyusa.bsky.social ranked choice poll of Tuesday’s Maine primaries, Bobby Charles, Hannah Pingree, and Joe Baldacci lead their races.
The poll also finds that voters take advantage of the ability to rank – 75% rank at least 2 candidates in the governor’s race.

Tomorrow, Mainers go to the polls for their 5th ranked choice voting primary.
The primary has seen notable examples of positive campaigning, & winners will have majority support.
Candidates for the same office have even endorsed each other.

"When people rank candidates they don't feel forced to just go with one of the leading folks to avoid wasting their vote," Johnson said.
Ranked Choice Voting is a simple change to voting that eliminates vote-splitting between like-minded candidates and voters, allows more candidates to run without being labeled as "spoilers," and elects majority winners broadly supported by voters.
