Look, I like Crystal Dynamics. I think they are a talented studio. But Jeff's explanation of how CD uses genAI is... bad. You're offloading brainstorming and ideation onto a machine. It was an unsatisfactory answer. BUT THEN the second half of the video turns into an Armando Iannucci bit.

Look, the easiest way to avoid having to answer questions about how generative AI is integrated into your studio's workflow is to not use generative AI. That's it. That's the simple and best solution to this problem.

So… this whole ‘we use gen AI to think through an idea before wasting dev cycles making it’ talking point… Like if I take that on the best possible faith, that the chatbot is used before human concepting… Are you publicly owning up to needing AI to do the job of thinking and scribbling some notes?
