honestly thinking about it im surprised that Harlan Ellison didin't delve into the psychological torture in regards to schedule 1 drugs considering the whole MK ultra shit from WW2 - maybe thats apart of Benny's backstabbing plot somehow but I digress
idk why I said ww2 I meant cold war which is what IHNMAIMS is a commentary on - which also solves said question considering I dont think MK ultra was publicized during the writing of the story but whatever I digress
