I had the honor of presenting data from my AFSP funded work that used mixed-methods to better understand the impact of suicide exposure on Native American young people. Long story short: the impacts are nuanced and cannot be captured with overly simplistic designs. Paper currently in prep!

Do you report self-harm history consistently?
Our recent work using ABCD Study data shows 67% of youth who reported a history of self-injury at age 9-10 denied it just one year later.
This highlights why we need repeated and developmentally sensitive check-ins to track youth mental health.
I am thrilled to share my new first author pub in JAD! 🥳 We found minority stress was associated with concurrent and future experiences of defeat, and defeat was associated with prospective minority stress in sexual minority college students reporting SI.
