The 2022 federal audit of the MBTA found too few workers, undertrained staff, and almost nothing fixed from the 2019 safety audit. The T then paid consultants millions it didn't have to re-diagnose the same problems.
Some trains are now so old the T machines its own parts. The makers are gone.
