ICE detained people at my kid's school today, shaking him so much that he begged me to bring him home, but to bring his passport so he could prove he's an American. They are coming for us all. And now my kid knows. I hate this. www.thebanner.com/opinion/colu...
Really doesn’t capture the glow, but I’ll note my neighbor’s stucco is white.
Mango peelerz are diabolical.
Good.
COLUMN | My son called me panicked as ICE detained people outside his Baltimore City public school. It’s forever changed him — and me, too.
Also, I have 3 books and a busy weekend and ahhhhhh
Glad I watered the plants since it seems no rain tonight.
In my childhood home hung a framed artwork. It was an animal of sorts, in crayon. In the style of Guatemalan weaving. Unmistakable.
My father kept the car stocked with art supplies back then. It was, for a time, a Sanctuary transport. Often his passengers were kids. Sometime really little ones.
Hence the supplies, which were often sent onwards with the kids
One of them drew that on the brief journey & gave it to him.
It hung in a prominent place in the house, where dad & all of us would see it everyday. It was deliberate.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about it a lot.
I’m sharing this not to boast on my dad, but because there are always examples out there. Just might not find them in a tidy book or wiki page. Hell, it’s not alway documented but word of mouth for decades FOR REASONS. (Safe for me to mention now.)
