This manifesto really does align with things I agree with but wasn't following. I was thinking about Godscrown in terms of marketability and that kind of killed my motivation on it. Looking at it through this lens really makes me think I ought to dust it off and go at it again.
Had this bouncing around my head. Little whack a mole zombie style game with a fun perspective. Moon would move to show the time remaining in the level, zombies getting close would deal damage to you. Maybe I'll do this for a halloween jam or something #pixelart #pico-8
With the right shader settings the trails on objects look exactly how I wanted them to look! The lighting looks a lot smoother too! Pretty neat effect! Also happy pride! #PONGDFECT
Alright I've been stunlocked by this for a day because I know it's a meme but it got me thinking about the games I play that don't have roguelike elements and why I play them and like, am I the roguelike element that's ensuring each playthrough is different from the last?
As a player am I a game design element that requires playing by a set of arbitrary rules I create on the fly to optimize the most fun out of a game? (nuzlocke, etc) As a designer, are these types of player decisions worth considering while designing a game? HMM.
Hi, looking for my next role 🙂 I have 10 years of experience coding at startups and smaller companies. I can do front end, back end, full stack, and game dev. Resume: jeremytjackson.com/resume/ Games: jeremyjackson89.itch.io Remote preferred, I'd rather not move and be in the situation again 😅
