It’s another D.C. theater critic’s notebook! Reviewing “Sally & Tom” at Round House, “Feeling Afraid” at Studio, “Precarious” at Mosaic and “A Fine Madness” at Woolly:
“They didn’t want me to go. They were being selfish about it, which I think speaks to what I’ve been trying to achieve here and within the entire league.”
For @notus.com, I sat down with Trinity Rodman to reflect on her decision to stay in D.C. and the contract saga that reshaped NWSL roster rules.
This World Cup will be bigger, longer and hotter. Will it be better? Here’s a deep dive into the perks and perils of the first 48-team tournament.
Pink killed it! “Schmigadoon!” cleaned up! But why are book and score both relegated to the preshow?
Breaking down the best and worst moments of the 79th Tony Awards:
Greetings from #USMNT training in Irvine, where we’re two days out from the Americans’ World Cup opener
The economic headwinds blowing against Broadway musicals are no secret. But whatever the financial outcome, this year's Tony nominees — "The Lost Boys," "Schmigadoon!," "Two Strangers" and "Titaníque" — are impressing critics, connecting with theatergoers and working to change that downbeat tune.

Some stray thoughts on yesterday's match:
— The 3-4-2-1 shape really works for this #USMNT. Dest, Jedi and Freeman look particularly at home.
— Pulisic sure looks like someone getting his groove back.
— The CM situation still feels unsettled. Thought we'd see more of Tillman or McKennie there.
Fresh off “One Battle After Another,” D.C. native Regina Hall is staying open to the unpredictable. Her career’s latest twist? A return to “Scary Movie” and her absurdist comedy roots.
Greetings from Charlotte! Here’s the #USMNT lineup that’ll face Senegal in today’s World Cup tune-up:
Turner; Freeman, McKenzie, Ream; Dest, Adams, Berhalter, A. Robinson; Reyna, Pulisic; Pepi
Really interested in seeing how Turner fares. And it’s another test of the 3-4-2-1 shape (presumably).
This year's Tony-nominated musicals — “The Lost Boys,” “Schmigadoon!,” “Titaníque” and “Two Strangers” — are finding artistic success despite economic headwinds.
