Kirsti~ The scientific reality is that there is no one indicator, or collection of linear indicators (such as chromosomes, gonads, hormone levels, genitalia, secondary sex characteristics and legally recognised sex), which “prove” someone’s “sex”
The argument that trans women will not excluded because they can simply use the men’s bathrooms & they can play on the men’s team is analogous to claiming gay individuals are not prevented from marrying under statutes preventing SSM because they could marry someone of a different sex.
Forcing a trans woman to use a male bathroom or force them to compete on a male sports team is forcing the trans woman to be cisgender.
This is equivalent to gender identity conversion efforts, which every major medical association has found to be dangerous and unethical.
Gender-diverse Australians are 4 times more likely to be victims of violence.
A paediatric study found that trans young people were between 26 and 149% more likely to be sexually assaulted in bathrooms not aligned with their gender identity than their peers.

“There is absolutely no research, no evidence that demonstrates that enabling trans women to use those spaces, that there is a greater risk of danger," she said.
"That is not true. In fact, trans women themselves are at high risk of violence."
Trans Threats not based on 'fact'
Australia's sex discrimination commissioner Dr Cody said perceived threats of trans women in spaces like women's bathrooms were not based on fact.
