One of the biggest problems we have in our party is that far too many people see those who agree with them 95% of the time as a bigger threat than those who agree with them 0% of the time. That's because far too much of the party is listening to activists, not enough to actual experts.

I think the next generation of progressive leaders need to press more first-order conversations communicating what their actual values are; and less second- and third-order realpolitik about what they think other people's values *should* be, and what those people think of other people.
