I'm v new (<5yrs) to game dev. But wisdom that instantly made sense to me, and I now apply to all my creative stuff: Prototypes should look bad. Because the pretty polish makes it way harder to see if the IDEA is actually good. If it's fun with a stick figure, you know you're on to something.
