Third variant - the handful of teabags in a big glass bottle and set it in the sun all for several hours - then refrigerate. Next morning its super strong and finally chilled to doctor to taste. I grew up drinking that unsweetened mostly.

this is an AFFRONT to my people so let me tell you how you ACTUALLY do this.
Five teabags. Boil a litre in kettle. Pour it over teabags in saucepan. Let steep for 15 minutes.
Now I recommend adding some sugar and lemon juice at this point but not mandatory.
Add three litres cool water.
Fridge.

if you put five teabags in a litre bottle of water and stick it in the fridge RIGHT NOW...
...you will have some lovely iced tea ready by 2pm. just as you start thinking:
"god it's so hot this afternoon i wish i had some iced tea"
