The ant queen (Atta texana) will be your first unit in the game. After you find a suitable spot, she sheds her wings and plants a piece of fungal mycelium that she carried. Soon the first larvae will hatch, grazing on by the fungus. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegames #pixelart #ants #entomology #RTS

I'm adding roads across the worlds of Kathay, and in the process trying to make the forests feel denser. For that, I increased the density of trees and added new rocks and bushes. This path cutting across the forest is starting to feel very nice! #indiedev #pixelart #gamedev

Doing some HUD/UI work for the World Map. I think I still want it to be pretty lean but trying to make it easier to understand. Little animation where you zoom into the location is kind of fun. Need some kinda banner/scroll for the place names though. #pixelart #gamedev #indiedev #shmup #stg

Some army ants are extremely polymorphic. This photo shows a large soldier and a small regular worker of Eciton hamatum. If you saw them separately, you wouldn’t even think they belong to the same species. You might also notice the light color of the ants - both are callows / newly eclosed.
