Some 28,700 of these Lego life rafts tumbled overboard from the cargo ship Tokio Express on 13th February 1997. In all, nearly five million bits of Lego were lost to the sea that fateful day.

It's impossible to tell and may well just be a random loss, but some oceanographers do believe that Lego from the Tokio Express could have drifted all the way found the globe by now. #LegoInTheWild
