It also mentions the first series of Postman Pat "took nearly two years" to animate, so presumably Woodland would have started production around late 1979 or early 1980.

The way this is worded, it sounds like Thomas actually used the telephone himself...
Something I've never really noticed before.
The counter window in the Post Office appears very briefly in the first episode, but is then completely missing for the rest of Series 1.
It finally reappears in the two 1991 special episodes. Perhaps the animators found it difficult to film around?
