This article is part of a larger effort on my part to comprehensively cover interface/web design for television and virtual reality, which is something I've wanted to do for ages. This represents a major part of the background research for that.
Absolutely bonkers to see a single person referenced as 'Web Implementer' in the credits for old browsers. Even slightly later browsers with a small team of five or so people absolutely blow my mind.
The early web was a very different beast to the one we know now, that's for sure.
This post has been completely written. I've just got to edit it ahead of its release tomorrow.
It has been a massive undertaking.
