The result is a cinematic failure but a box-office hit. So, a win or not? But likely much of it hinges on that one itty-bitty decision which is the choice of title.
But once you slap the "2" on it everybody - actors, writers, producers, the director, all the way down to the caterers, have their minds locked into retread mode. Of course the marketers insist on this because of recognizability.
We can't let stochastic parrot AI take over the movie business. Only humans are truly creative.
Can't help thinking that just the title is what turned this into a gilded vanity video. A genuine sequel, with its own title, might have given an actual story a chance to evolve, instead of being smothered under panoramic scenery, gags and cameos.
Gracefully avoids mentioning the most cantankerous thatcher of them all.
