Side point but people didn’t know McDuffie’s policies because even he didn’t know what they were!
McDuffie wasn't sure whether he was a "moderate." Even the Washington Post noted that he seemed confused about what his candidacy was about.
If the voters (and "activists") didn't know why to vote for McDuffie, it's because McDuffie also didn't know why to vote for McDuffie.
