Read 1959 article "Reasoning Foundations of Medical Diagnosis." Interesting to read clear account of how a physician makes a diagnosis, i.e., by taking patient history, exam, labs then eval those signs and symptoms, then differential diagnosis and exclusions till likely target visible.
