I saw my first barred owl on a walk earlier this month. A small one, peeking at me from behind a tree. Love this choice for #BestOfTheMonth for #BirdOfTheDay!
Small goals update: I reached 250 bird species for 2026 with an Eastern kingbird yesterday. But it was #249, a barred owl, that was special earlier in the day. Michigan USA.
