The family of the Belfast stabbing victim have released a statement saying - like the family of Henry Nowak last week - that the attack should not be used to "divide people or fuel hostility"
They condemned disorder and praised the "valuable contribution" by migrants

"Friendly"
At moments of crisis, leaders have a responsibility to speak to, and for, their country.
The PM should be on the airwaves, telling the stories of the children, teenagers and families who have been burned out of their homes; naming those responsible; and leading a national fightback against them.
While more indicative of existing tensions than a direct cause, reporting like this clearly doesn't bring divided communities closer together.
Ten or so days later and "foreigners" in Belfast are having their homes burned down
Masked thugs are rioting on British streets, burning the homes of 'foreigners'. A billionaire white supremacist, and his followers, likely played a significant role via his vast social media platform.
The question is: How much worse do things have to get before the UK government stops using X?

And this is a riot

Important thread.
We’re right to call out Musk, Yaxley-Lennon and Lowe, and reference the situation in rest of the UK.
But that’s far short of explaining why this is happening in Northern Ireland
Reflecting on a story I wrote last week about local news titles owned by Reach publishing a map showing "how many asylum seekers are living in your area"
Belfast Live was one of those titles. Reaction on Facebook was so bad they deleted the story and blocked further comments on the post

We need leaders who can spell out what's happening clearly and with force.
