My grandma had a lot of fancy vases for her flowers. I'm more of a person who puts them in bottles. Especially in paintings since they're really fun to do in watercolor.

I painted this female mallard #duck for a friend. Since it's going up on a wall, I imagined it should double as a piece of room decoration. In this spirit it became very colorful and vibrant, with visible strokes like a Van Gogh.

Once in a while I enjoy my landscapes more monochrome then usual. This time I went for this spooky house out of Tim Burtons "Beetlejuice". It's so satisfying to paint since every frame of his movies already feels like a painting.

One thing I love about lilies is how dramatic they open up. They're like actors putting up a great show once the spotlight hits them perfectly. Nothing wrong feeling like a lily once in a while!

I spent some cozy days in Warnemünde and painted the famous Molenfeuer lighthouses. I started on location but couldn't finish it in one session. It was also quite windy. Still it was a wonderful reason to enjoy the shore.

I love early morning scenes with thick mist hanging over the ground. But it's difficult to paint less saturated greys when using #watercolor. So I went for strong colors while still trying to keep a moody vibe of a boat woken up by a misty morning. ⛵

I was raised on a small farm with chicken in the backyard. They're fun but also pretty noisy. Grandma always said: You dont need a guard dog, if you have chicken. So I painted this one getting up early to guard its garden.
