This week is International Archives Week and this year’s theme is #ArchivesForJustice with particular focus on rights, memory and futures. Preserving memories through personal testimonies such as diaries is just one way archives support justice.
From Conwy Archives, this portrait of Agnes Twiston Hughes is a particular hidden gem. Hughes was born in 1895 and was the first woman in Cymru to qualify as a solicitor when she graduated in 1923.
