i guess i just have beef with how a lot of fire emblem discussion is limited to chapter-to-chapter gameplay when the series is increasingly moving away from that. there's a lot to these games outside of that, for better and for worse

i think a lot of the conversation around fe8's trainees is a little hampered because people seem allergic to mentioning how fe8 introduces and incentivizes grinding. from a design perspective these 3 units practically come with a PLEASE PLAY THE OPTIONAL DUNGEON label attached to each of them

im excited for wolverine and will definitely play it sometime this year, but the state of play trailer was really... AAA? which, to be fair, it *should* be, but i think i don't like how it opened with wolverine crouching and saying "hmm.. i need to find some clues..." and then doing silent takedowns
