Rule of thumb in animation: If you're gonna parody something of prominence, you have to come collect.
Shrek isn't good cause it lampoons Disney movies, parks, and tropes. Shrek was good cause it was clever and funny in how it did it. "This thing bad, my thing good." can't be your whole thing.

That one indie animation team calling Hazbin Hotel, Digital Circus, and Gameoverse childish reminds me of this trailer from the 90s for a movie called Blue Planet calling Toy Story and A Bug's Life childish.
Blue Planet never ended up getting fully made, BTW.
