I'm a climate expert. I know 1000s of climate experts. One fact we all know: poor people care about climate more than rich people. Hardly surprising when you can't afford AC, work outside, etc.

Just imagine how much lower your energy bills could be. And how much cooler your car would be at the end of the day in the summertime. And not having to brush snow off your car in the winter. And the reduction in carbon emissions.
there is so much wrong or strange messaging about hazardous weather from politicians & other leaders…in contrast, here we get *exactly* the information people need to know about the risks of urban flash flooding (what it is, what the risks are, how to get needed information, with engaging delivery)
"Voluminous empirical data show that most of the public cares about climate change... But this overwhelming majority does not realize it’s a majority, partly because its existence is not reflected in most news coverage. In other words, they have been a silent majority but also a *silenced* majority"

Hello, it’s me in @nytopinion.nytimes.com The Democratic Party is historically unpopular & hemorrhaging working class voters. Focusing on the issue of climate change —an issue mainly impt to their educated/affluent base—is not a way to reverse this. This marks the end of an era. 👇
NCAR just won in court! A US district judge in Colorado has prohibited NSF from taking #NCAR apart, specifically in spalling off its supercomputing center in Wyoming. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

"France passed a single law and instantly unlocked 11 gigawatts of #solarenergy — without using new land. In 2023, France's government mandated solar canopies over all car parks larger than 80 spaces. The scale was enormous: There are 400,000 parking areas across France #ActOnClimate #Renewables

Felt compelled to write on this topic again today. IMO we simply do not have the data to know what impacts the changes to the NWS upper air program - necessitated by budget/staffing constraints- may be having on forecasts.

For much of Monday, the agency didn't anticipate a tornado threat for Kansas City — then five hit that evening. Did a change in weather balloon launches leave forecasters in the dark?
