We're #recruiting a research assistant to work on a DFG-funded project on #MetaScience at the University of Cologne. Some coding skills in #python required, and interest in modelling the #cognition of #reading! Please spread the word!
I'm so tired of seeing this argument – as working memory is a limited resource, and as the modern environment is now so information-rich and complex, and as our brains evolved in the olden times to have dopamine reward circuity - ATTENTION SPANS ARE CRATERING INTO THE GROUND.

📢 PhD position in the @cognition-zurich.bsky.social at University of Zurich
I’ve been part of the lab for 7+ years, and it’s a genuinely collaborative and supportive place to grow as a researcher and do research on working memory and cognition 👇
I wrote up something that's been in my head for a while: psychometric methods alone can't tell us what cognitive tasks and their indicators measure.
Correlating indicators across tasks is circular when constructs are defined by those same correlations.

Many claim memory biases toward percepts reflect corruption in sensory signals. We challenge this view by showing that ppl adapt their integration rationally w/ experience. w/ @timbrady.bsky.social

Conventional systematic reviews can become outdated before they're even published.
In our new @nathumbehav.nature.com piece, we discuss how living systematic reviews can help keep evidence current by continuously integrating new evidence.
