OK!! So I think I have a fix for this on Windows.
If this happens, copy all your layers onto a new file and save it just in case.
Then without closing CSP, sign out of Windows, sign back in and open CSP again. It *should* restore the file from the moment you logged off.
SAVE THAT IMMEDIATELY.

So heads up CSP5 still has the legacy saving error, I'm going to test their "save after every operation" function to see how much work can be recovered after a crash like this.
