6/ The biggest concern here is livestock. Screwworm spreads quickly, and can be devastating. A 1976 Texas outbreak, a spillover from Mexico, affected 1.8 million livestock. A comparable outbreak today could cost Texas $1.8 billion, and over $100 billion in broader U.S. livestock economic activity.
This one was somewhat novel; I can't recall seeing a visualization designed like this before (but let me know if any of you have!).
