For better or worse, I keep a mental tally of how many copies my biggest credits sell and then try not to go insane thinking about: 1. how much better off I'd be if I got even one-off bonuses equivalent to what I first made and 2. how vanishingly small of a single percent that amount always is lol

Game workers do not receive any residuals/royalties on shipped titles and shipping bonuses are increasingly rare. There's also no guarantee that your name will even be in the credits if you leave before ship, and studios will use this to keep you compliant.
All of this can and should change.
