I remember the opening of his show at Palais de Tokyo back then, in 2013, was disrupted by a group of protestors called Les Ami-e-s de La Barbe, complaining about the over-representation of male artists in French art museums. Le Parc applauded them, clearly overjoyed to be caught up in the dissent.
It's being reported that Julio Le Parc has died. I met Le Parc in Paris (for this @friezeofficial.bsky.social feature www.frieze.com/article/peri...) nearly thirteen years ago and liked him a lot. There was something impish and irrepressible about him even then, at 84 years old.
