McConnellβs entire act was to pretend that he was holding back a more radical contingent of the GOP to make his demands that Medicaid be cut by 90% instead of 100% look reasonable and DC journalists completely bought into it.

Weirdest thing is that they clearly thought this was going to be something that grabbed the nationβs attention on a Super Bowl-type scale but as far as I can tell even the most positive reactions are purely apathetic
If McConnell never openly embraced Qanon beliefs it was simply because he thought that the Democrats could be more easily defeated through feigning respectability. But he would have altered every aspect of his political posture to far right lunacy if he believed that was the best strategy
