James Mcteigue was the 2nd unit director for Lana & Lilly Wachowski's Matrix films. The Wachowski's also produced V for Vendetta and many of Mcteigue's future projects. You can kinda see how the slick action aesthetics of those former projects show up in this film. Especially in fight sequences.
