Before anyone asks: yep, also experienced, a loved, OBSESSION (20216). W.W. Jacobs "The Monkey's Paw" (classic 1902 short story) redux, for a new generation; ideal "worst date movie ever" companion to last year's TOGETHER, plays out its dire scenario to its logical (horrific) conclusion. A corker!
I believe I curated the first-ever retrospective of Mario Bava's films, predating subsequent retrospectives in far, far more visible/prestige venues in future years/decades. I rented EVERY Bava title available at that time on 16mm!
My 2nd year of 16mm film programming at Johnson State College in Johnson, VT, spring 1976 schedule. Dibden was the ideal theatrical venue for film exhibition, I made the most of it! By summer '76, I was still on campus, as a tutor for summer classes. Off to Kubert School August 1976...
I curated 16mm film exhibition at Johnson State College, Johnson, VT for two years or so; scans from my notebook from that era, listing the 1975 and early 1976 schedules. We had anamorphic lenses for the projectors, so widescreen projection whenever possible on Leone, a few other films.
