✅ We passed the Protect Our Courts Act to maintain the sanctity of our judicial system and keep ICE out of our courts by preventing immigration detention inside our courts without judicial warrant.

In the 2026 legislative session we passed three bills to protect immigrants from being unconstitutionally targeted by federal immigration officials.
I'm proud to stand up for our immigrant neighbors and I'll continue to do so as Attorney General.

✅ We reduced the maximum sentence for misdemeanor offenses from one calendar year to 364 days, preventing immigrants from falling into deportation proceedings for misdemeanors.

Grateful to friends, neighbors and folks from across the community who came out to support me earlier this week. We had a great time enjoying wings and a Sox game at High Motor in Pawtucket.
✅ Through the Rhode Island Federal Constitution Defense Act, we implemented a civil cause of action enabling Rhode Islanders to sue when their Constitutional rights are violated by federal officials.
