Devastated to hear about Emi Koyama's passing. Her essays, especially The Transfeminist Manifesto and Who's Feminism Is It Anyway, were foundational in my teens shaping the way I thought about being trans and having a set of ideas as a starting point when it came to dealing with the shit we face.
I never met her but the spirit of her badges really summed up a lot of third way DIY feminist counter culture for me and gave me a lot of strength and pride around highlighting the obvious intersections of justice around being able to access public spaces and the need to rebel against civility.

I heard she was sick, sad to hear about this. One of the original pioneers of contemporary transfeminism. In addition to her feminist work, Emi was also a major promoter of transfeminine literature for a Japanese audience. She translated many summaries of Western trans books into Japanese. RIP.

Int'l. Day of Solidarity with Marius Mason & Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners "We may take moments of evasion and defensive posture, only to come back stronger and more intransigent ... Solidarity without end means always acting towards the goal of destroying the prevailing order" june11.noblogs.org
Also; Emi's website has a blog dating back to 2007, and it's absolutely chock full of resources and zines and general feminist knowledge. It should 100% get archived in its entirety. eminism.org

If you've never read it before, I would highly recommend reading Koyama's 2001 "The Transfeminist Manifesto." Very under-read and underappreciated part of contemporary trans history. eminism.org/readings/pdf...
