my one big takeaway from this years pile of Showcases is that Unreal Engine 5 has co-opted or sort of, I dare say, polluted the visual language of games, where nothing stands out
theres a kind of mediocrity that comes with being "photorealistic I guess". PBR substance everywhere, but not distinct
