It’ll be interesting to see what Burnham does on devolution, and on Wales especially. I remain to be convinced that Burnham would change course from Starmer and Stevens’ block refusal to devolve more powers to Wales and bring Welsh Government powers more in line with Scotland and Northern Ireland.
And many politicians and fossil fuel interest groups will keep whining about the costs of Net Zero. The UK isn’t built for these temps. 41°C in Leicester in 2022 was unbearable. In the early 2010s these temps weren’t projected to be possible until 2050s. I’m glad I moved north.
