A man struggles to process feelings of betrayal by fellow super rich after being booed in arena full of people who could afford tickets to NBA Finals in NY:
Oh man, even more World Cup team travel headaches... 4. "more than a dozen" Iran team staff denied visas 5. Swiss player denied boarding flight in Zurich, still working it out 6. South Africa delayed travel over staff visas, but later took blame Begs question: How much of this is "normal"?
World Cup hasn't kicked off yet, but so far... 1. Somali referee denied entry to US at Miami airport (ESPN story below) 2. Iraqi team photographer denied entry to US at Chicago airport 3. Iraqi player questioned almost 7 hours at Chicago airport More on Iraqis: abc7chicago.com/post/photogr...
"Protesters were literally pleading for press to remain. Police had other ideas," FPF's @adamrose.bsky.social told @truthout.org. "At least three of those arrested ended up in the hospital. Do I really need to explain why press cameras needed to be rolling?"
Police want to decide which journalists can cover the Delaney Hall protests in Newark, New Jersey. But if an officer can point at someone and declare they are not press, the First Amendment ceases to have meaning. Read more from FPF's @adamrose.bsky.social:

"We’re poorer as a society without having journalists there to bear witness," FPF's @adamrose.bsky.social told @blavity.bsky.social about reporters being arrested while covering protests outside Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey.
"On paper, both laws and courts tend to respect that press are exempt from curfews and dispersal orders," writes @adamrose.bsky.social, "But on the street, constitutional protections for those livestreamers can boil down to an officer’s snap decision."

If the general election for Los Angeles Mayor ends up with Karen Bass vs. Spence Pratt, the winner would surely be sworn in with a negative approval rating. Bass was -23% in March. Pratt could start lower. How long until Kalshi and Polymarket are taking bets on a recall?
