"Protesters were literally pleading for press to remain. Police had other ideas," FPF's @adamrose.bsky.social told @truthout.org.
"At least three of those arrested ended up in the hospital. Do I really need to explain why press cameras needed to be rolling?"
Police want to decide which journalists can cover the Delaney Hall protests in Newark, New Jersey.
But if an officer can point at someone and declare they are not press, the First Amendment ceases to have meaning.
