Lerche, Mathieu, @johannaivaska.bsky.social @ivaskalab.bsky.social et al. reveal that newly synthesized #integrins can bypass the Golgi to be actively delivered to specific plasma membrane regions, where they enhance cell protrusion and #adhesion. rupress.org/jcb/article/...

What music should we play to our cells? This was the start of an amazing journey from @ivaskalab.bsky.social at @turkubioscience.bsky.social with Jasmin Kaivola and collaborators @sarawickstrom.bsky.social and others to explore larynx cancer mechanosensitivity!

Vocal fold cancer tumours lose some of their malignant traits when mechanically stimulated by physiological stretch or vibrations, mimicking the opening and closing of vocal folds and phonation.
We are very happy to share our latest work exploring the role of newly synthetized integrin-α5 using RUSH. We found that a subset goes to the PM via unconventional secretion! Big thanks to all involved! Read more at doi.org/10.1083/jcb.... @mathildemathieu.bsky.social @martina-lerche.bsky.social
Review alert! Our new review titled 'The dynamic tumor extracellular matrix: Biophysical cues, cellular crosstalk, and disease progression,' is now online!
