I booked Lucilius (GranBlue Fantasy) via my audition for Sandalphon; the voice wasn’t what the team was looking for on the latter, but was EXACTLY what they wanted for the former.
This is what VO tutors mean when they say every audition is an opportunity to play, not a question to answer correctly.

and in addition; sometimes you audition for one role and get another one that you end up liking better (for yourself to perform at least).

Let this be a reminder that behind all the successes you constantly see touted on social media, there’s an entire pile of “failures” (bad word; use “opportunities that didn’t pan out” instead) sitting just behind that aren’t talked about.
But no matter what, the passion has to be there, every time.
