Basic livery decals on. Next the windows over the cheat lines and hundreds of stencils from the Revell sheet. #BastilleBuild 🇫🇷
With the last bits of gloss white on undercarriage doors painted and drying, I can make a start on the decals in the morning. The original Air France ones are from TB in Italy, and I’ll use as many of the stencils from the Revell kit as I can be bothered.
Engine bits painted. Not black, but a special dark mix of gun metal with some lighter airbrushed streaks.
Drying.
Clear light of a new day, and I think I’m sorted on the Concorde tail - without needing a respray - just carefully sanding and polishing out the paint blobs. Not perfect, but the decal goes over most of the area, so it should be barely noticeable.
3D printer fixed, I can now also get back to the HP42 build. Crazy to think there was only 45 years between the first commercial flights of each of these - and Concorde’s is now even longer ago than that. #HistScaleModels
A livery that perhaps looks better on a Caravelle than Concorde, but my first set of decals are on. #HistScaleModels #BastilleBuild 🇫🇷
Visor unmasked and undercarriage fitted. Just trying out on the Comet display stand to check for size. I’m thinking something similar, but perhaps a bit more up to date for Concorde. #BastilleBuild 🇫🇷
Concorde top coat generally pretty good, but I managed to over do it slightly on the tail, and got a bit of a dribble. I think I’ll try polishing it out, but I may have to respray that bit. #HistScaleModels #BastilleBuild 🇫🇷
