A personal nerdy project to document the look and feel of every station on Sydney Trains, Intercity, Metro & Ferries. A look at urban environments in and around Sydney. Also other transit & urban things. Just some nerd.

It's taking a while for me to get to Goulburn. I want to take the train for this one (I drove to most of the SHL as the service is appalling). That means taking a non-Opal Canberra train.
Have been struggling to find a day where 1) I'm free, 2) the weather is good and 3) the train isn't sold out!
The Sunday afternoon Canberra train is massively popular for people returning home from a weekend in Sydney.
We could build a metro system in every capital city with the numbers being thrown around for this

I reckon L1 would easily be higher if they added more services. It's regularly full and leaves people behind.
Fun fact - Chatswood Station isn't "elevated". The tracks are basically at the natural ground level. The concourse, shopping arcades and bus interchange were all excavated out when the line to Epping was built.

Even for Darwin and Hobart!
Just one more lane bro

Plus soon it'll be a handy feeder to the Metro at the south end of the route.
Imagine if they figured out how to make a train transfer at Lewisham work!
I am less annoyed that the metro line won't be open at the same time as the airport.
I'm more annoyed there's effectively no plan to build the line to Macarthur and Tallawong, as both parties promised.
